is a group of many smaller Dance Troupes & individuals from the Central Coast of California, brought together by their love of dance, into a performance collective for larger events. The members have studied under many different instructors, both local and world renowned. While holding together their own identities, the many Troupes have combined their talents to put on an awesome display of dance, unrivaled in this universe.
What does Mayyadah mean? --- from Arabic "to walk with a proud, swinging gait"
Troupe Mayyadah™ presents life in a nomadic eastern European encampment full
of tribal belly dancers, wayward merchants and musicians who have banded
together throughout our travels. We offer stage performances as well as
dancing, music & interaction with the public in our encampment throughout
the day. We will post set times that we will perform in our encampment
but if there is a gathering of people, we always get up & dance for
them in between shows. We have trinkets & treasures we bestow upon
the children. We have a collection of 5 tents and a primitive shade tarpuline
that we put up, along with rugs, pillows, wooden furniture that we have
barter or bought along our wanderings, So we look like a camp of many families
that has stopped for the weekend to camp, play music, dance and make merriment.

Like last year the gals are planning to attend the LV Faire. Last year Chelle, Dana, Riko and Sharilyn did a girls "What stays in Vegas" trip. They drove over stayed in a hotel and attended the faire. I heard something about parties and no sleep but I could not gather any real details ..... They are planning to go again and the more the merrier Las Vegas may never be the same. So if you would like to be part of the Bringing Vegas DOWN TOUR this would be your chance.

Full Member Dancers Design
All members and prospective members will wear the henna markings of Troupe Mayyadah on their left hand when performing at guild events.
The design consists of 4 elements:
*** The lotus blossom / butterfly: represent life and beauty.
*** The 2 smaller pear blossoms: represent wisdom.
*** The vines: represent the reaching out to our dance sisters.
*** The spiral woman: She is the reminder that a woman’s creativity come from within.
The design when looked at from the “V” created by the thumb & forefinger, appears to be a stylized lotus blossom flanked by 2 smaller flowers and 2 vines. BUT, when viewed by the wearer, it is a butterfly.
Only those that have been accepted as full Troupe Mayyadah guild members will wear the full markings of the troupe.
